Why is There No ‘Women’s March’ Against Hollywood?

Women’s marches seem to be more visible than ever now that Donald Trump is president, allegedly due to the fact that the billionaire business man represents all the evils of the so-called patriarchy at once.

Of course, it’s also impossible to forget the universal reaction to Trump over his controversial “locker room talk” video, which was recorded over a decade ago.

However, there is a curious silence in reaction to the reported allegations against Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein. Wasn’t there some kind of rape culture that prevailed in America? Does that not apply to the country’s film industry for some reason?

Unlike the president, Weinstein has actually been implicated — repeatedly — in actual sexual harassment scandals. Trump, on the other hand, was simply caught using foul language. This is not to excuse the president’s behavior, but it does reveal a rigid double standard.

Weinstein is a Hollywood insider and major Democratic donor. He is part of the protected progressive class that is all too often allowed to get away with despicable behavior. If modern feminists want to be consistent with their fight against the evil patriarchy, people like Weinstein are their proper targets.
