Democratic leaders have made the debate on what to do with the scores of illegal immigrants living in the United States into what seems to be the new civil rights movement — at least, that’s how they want the issue to be perceived.
Considering how migrants from third-world countries tend to vote once they have the ability to, it’s not surprising that Democrats in Congress will do seemingly everything they can to force through as many amnesty measures as possible. Immigrants tend to be pro-big government, and depend more heavily on assistance programs.
But, what if the opposite was true — and immigrants had a conservative slant?
Based on their tactics, it seems like the image to the left isn’t too far off. If hordes of pro-free market entrepreneurs who had no intention to live off the state were pouring into America’s borders, people like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer would have a near-instant change of heart.
