The Media CAN’T Make Up its Mind on Trump’s Economy

How is the economy doing right now? Well, that honestly depends on the day. Who is responsible for it? Well, that depends on how the economy is doing, so this question is just a circle of more questions.

It’s an undeniable fact that the economy under President Donald Trump far outperforms the economy seen under President Barack Obama. Even though the economy was recovering from the so-called “Great Recession” under Obama, that recover was sluggish, often referred to by economists as the “jobless recovery.”

Trump’s economy has been anything but jobless. It’s a widely-touted fact that African Americans and hispanics both enjoy the lowest unemployment numbers since analysts started measuring this. Everyone else seems to be doing pretty well too. Yes, there’s been more than a few hick-ups in the stock market, but here’s the thing about the stock market — it’s always in flux. It’s always changing. It was true under Obama, it’s true under Trump, and it will be true under whoever succeeds him.

What we can’t allow is the media to continue pedaling this lie that the economy is only Trump’s when it’s doing badly. If nothing else, at least be consistent.
