Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is standing firm against the Biden administration’s request to cease state efforts along the U.S.-Mexico border. In a letter first disclosed by the Daily Caller News Foundation, Paxton strongly defended Texas’ actions, including the state’s recent move to secure Shelby Park in Eagle Pass.
The Biden administration had previously urged Texas to stop obstructing Border Patrol’s access to the area by a given deadline, as reported by CNN. However, Paxton’s letter made it clear that Texas remains unwavering in its stance, despite ongoing legal battles with the federal government over issues such as razor wire installations and the arrest of migrants for illegal entry.
The situation escalated recently when the Biden administration accused Texas of hindering border agents from rescuing drowning migrants in the Rio Grande. However, a subsequent court filing by the Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed that federal authorities had not informed Texas officials about the incident until after it had occurred.
In his letter, Paxton directly addressed the claims made by the Biden administration, asserting that both the facts and the law are on Texas’ side. He criticized the administration’s open-border policies and urged the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to focus on enforcing existing immigration laws rather than engaging in legal disputes with Texas.
Paxton’s bold stance against the Biden administration is a necessary defense against their reckless open-border policies. It’s outrageous how the federal government, under Biden’s leadership, is failing miserably to protect our borders and enforce existing immigration laws. Instead of supporting states like Texas that are taking concrete steps to secure the border and safeguard American citizens, the Biden administration is choosing to engage in petty legal battles. It’s a clear indication of their twisted priorities and complete disregard for the rule of law and the safety of American communities. Texans and Americans deserve better than this weak and irresponsible approach to one of our nation’s most critical security issues. It’s high time the Biden administration wakes up and starts taking border security seriously, instead of undermining those who are actually doing something about it.

Some of us can’t afford to buy our medicine. I have to take 10 medicines a day to survive and two of them cost almost $300.00. Where is the lower cost he promised?
