“Journalists” Have Gotten Really Wimpy Over the Years

We picked on wimpy rock stars recently when a meme similar to this one popped up on the web. Now it’s time for journalists to get their turn on the “What happened to you pathetic dweebs” wheel. Don’t get us wrong, though. Journalists were left-wing dweebs in 2001. It’s just that they were nowhere near as wimpy as this crop we have in 2021.

Some journalists who were not named Brian Williams actually did go into harm’s way all those decades ago when the war in Afghanistan started. Some received severe wounds while embedded with combat troops. One was even famously beheaded by the Taliban.

Looking back, we really got to hand it to them. At the time, being an embedded journalist in a war zone was one of the most badass career decisions you could make. And yes, we just put “journalist” and “badass” in the same sentence (and no, we’re not talking about Andy Ngo).

But this crop of Democrat Party water-carriers today? They melt over a mean tweet. They throw absolute temper tantrums if Tucker Carlson makes fun of them during a segment on his show. They talk about how they need therapy from people saying mean stuff to them on the internet.

This meme also reminded us of that old saying (meme, actually) with Sun Tzu: “Make memes of them until they cry. Then make memes of them crying.”
