It’s Happening: London’s Mayor is Actually Enforcing “Knife Control”

It’s something you might’ve initially thought was a joke — until you turned on the news and laughed even harder because it’s actually real.

Now, this probably isn’t very funny if you live in the United Kingdom, so we apologize if you’re one of those people. However, if you’re an American watching what’s happening here in our own country with gun control, it’s hard not to spin this into a witty “I told you so” moment.

Citing a sharp rise in the instances of violent crime involving knives, London Mayor Sadiq Khan is using the same arguments against knives that many Democrats use against guns in the United States. There is simply no reason, the Muslim mayor says, for individuals to carry knives. Now, if you’re an American, you might default to saying “of course not — I have a gun” — but Brits don’t exactly enjoy the same constitutional luxuries we do.

News of the London mayor’s moves on “knife control” have prompted a slew of memes and satire, such as Babylon Bee’s piece claiming the mayor was eyeing “fist control” as a next step. It’s all warranted, considering the mayor is following a path of logic that truly has no end.

Yet again, Americans are served a refreshing reminder of why their country was founded in the first place.
