Feminist writer and documentary filmmaker Emily Lindin landed herself in hot water this week after posting that she doesn’t care if sexual harassment accusations land innocent men in prison. Her reasoning? Really nothing new: men have used sexuality as a weapon against women throughout history, and it’s time for some payback.
Ironically, no one seemed to call her out harder than CNN’s Jake tapper — who said she probably failed her English lit tests on To Kill a Mockingbird.
For those who don’t remember their required reading in high school, here’s a quick recap: one of the protagonists in the story is a black man accused of murder after retaliating against racist white men for raping his daughter. How do you think Lindin’s logic would apply here?
