Can We Talk About How WEIRD These Democratic Candidates Are?

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s presidential aspirations grow more hopeless by the day as additional women come forward to remind us what a creep he is. At the same time, former Texas Rep. Robert “Beto” O’Rourke finds other, less creepy but just as cringey ways to be as off-putting as possible.

To be clear, we’re not equating Biden’s fixation with smelling hair to Beto’s dumb new age tendencies. As weird as eating magic dirt is, it’s nothing close to how Biden has been awkwardly embracing women, children, and some men for the entirety of his political career.

But…it’s still weird, isn’t it? All of these candidates are weird. Sen. Kamala Harris was listening to Tupac before he released any music, and Sen. Cory Booker likes to compare himself to Roman gladiators. It’s pretty strange.

Now, granted — this is all part of the aftermath of Americans electing a reality television host as the leader of the free world. It sort of comes with the territory. Nevertheless, watching the Democratic reaction to the core of the country rejecting everything the party stands for is endlessly more entertaining than President Donald Trump could ever hope to be.
