Barack Obama’s Presidential Portrait is Borderline Disturbing

Former President Barack Obama’s official presidential portrait was revealed earlier this week, and we couldn’t be more creeped out.

After leaving office, it has been customary for all outgoing commanders-in-chief to commission a painting of themselves for the national archives. These paintings have historically been relatively benign in nature — usually not showing much more than the president sitting at a desk or something along that same vein. The same treatment has been given to former First Ladies.

Apparently, Barack and Michelle Obama missed that memo, and ended up looking like posters straight out of an old horror B-movie.

Of course, this is has been great internet fodder for all of the memers out there. As demonstrated in the image to the left, Obama’s presidential portrait has been likened to classic tales of terror.

Despite all the satire, we think it’s rather fitting that the president is shown appearing to shrink into the bushes behind him. After all, the former president’s first instinct in the face of rising Islamic terror and job-crushing trade deals and regulations has been to look the other way.

Knowing this, we’d like to congratulate the artist here for an accurate representation of the Obama era. Kudos!
