Al Franken Gets a Pass for Being a Creep Because He’s a Democrat

We all knew it was coming — but that doesn’t make it any less disgusting.

Last Friday, the Washington Post ran an editorial by feminist author Kate Harding. The headline read “I’m a feminist. I study rape culture. And I don’t want Al Franken to resign.”

Now, based on this headline, you might assume the author essentially argues that because Franken votes the way she likes, it’s okay for him to be a creep. While taking a headline at face value is usually a bad idea, that’s exactly what Harding argues.

The best part? She essentially admits to doing exactly this.

“Cynics on both the right and left will presume I am passing by this particular steam tray on 2017’s smorgasbord of feminist outrage because Franken is a Democrat, and so am I,” she writes. “In the most superficial sense, this is true.”

Take a step back and reverse everything you just read, and pretend a picture of Senator Ted Cruz groping a woman’s breasts just went viral.

It’s very hard to believe the Washington Post, or any other media outlet for that matter, would publish a column defending the Texas senator.
