The Sad Decline of Paris in This Meme…

Sometimes, a really great meme can simply fill us with sadness or a feeling of melancholy when they point out the absurdities of modern life. Imagine how Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn would feel if you dropped them in the middle of Paris today?

When they filmed “Charade” in 1963, Paris was still one of the greatest cities in the world (much like San Francisco in the US used to be). It was the ‘romance’ capital of the world, and a place where filmmakers were often eager to use as a backdrop.

Some couples used to plan the one big vacation of their lifetime together with Paris as the destination. Today, Paris is an absolute dump as you can see in the background of this meme, with trash, drug needles, discarded mattresses and other unmentionable debris strewn everywhere. Sad!

So many migrants from Third World countries have flood into Paris and surrounding areas of France that you wouldn’t dare go there for any reason. In fact, even the police fear to tread in many of the ‘no-go zones’ where they’ve lost total control.

“Enrichment,” indeed.
