Retired NFL player Herschel Walker announced this week that he’s running for US Senate in Georgia. The former Heisman Trophy winner and pro baller is running as a Republican in 2022. You’d think the GOP establishment would be excited to have Walker running, but for some reason… they’re not.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in particular is upset that Walker is running and has said so publicly. It’s not that difficult to figure out why.
Walker was appointed to the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition by Donald Trump. Walker is a big Trump supporter, and Trump has endorsed Walker for Senate.
Looks like despite being a great candidate and another good chance for Republicans to pick up a much-needed Senate seat in the midterms, Walker won’t be getting any help from the Republican leadership PACs. Not that he’ll need it. Voters in the New Right don’t really worry about the approval of the establishment GOP any longer.
If Walker looks like he’ll stand up to the woke BS of the Democrat Party, he should sail to victory next year.
