Earlier this week, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders appeared on Fox News for a rare town hall appearance.
For his supporters, this was like going into the lion’s den. Fox News represents the bastion of corporatism, conservatism, and “fake news” for many on the left. But when Bernie showed up, he brought his horde of followers with him. It was easy to forget which channel you were watching…
Fox News hosts did a good job pressing Bernie on the issues. One question in particular appeared to hit the senator right where it hurt.
Recently, it was revealed that Bernie Sanders is one of the “millionaires and billionaires” he constantly rails against in his rallies. As the FNC hosts pointed out, however, Sanders was a beneficiary of President Donald Trump’s signature tax cuts — which the socialist opposed. Why then, did he opt into it? Why didn’t he — a man who strongly believes that the richest Americans aren’t paying their “fair share” — simply donate more of his income to either the federal government or any other charity?
The answer is simple — the hard left doesn’t really care about income inequality. They don’t even hate capitalism that much — at least when they get to benefit from it.
