We Kind of Want to Clone This GOP Governor a Bunch of Times…

Almost every Republican governor in the United States has been a massive disappointment for the past year. And now that we’re finally inching our way out of the pandemic, many GOP governors are still not behaving very impressively.

The governors of Texas and Georgia both made a big whoop-te-do last month by finally at long last reopening their states. And residents in those states are supposed to thank them because…?

Gee… thanks for giving us back those rights that you never had the authority to take away in the first place!
And what’s with the governors of South Dakota and Arkansas vetoing those child castration bills anyway? It’s as if most of the GOP failed to notice the last four years of competent governance with a certain Bad Orange Man in the White House.

One state does have a highly effective governor who seems to be interested in fighting for his citizens, protecting their rights and being awesome in press conferences. That would be Florida, which has been competently run by Heavy D throughout the pandemic. If Donald Trump doesn’t run for reelection in 2024, it’s looking like Heavy D will be the most likely successor. Can we clone him a bunch of times, Florida – or at least borrow him on a part-time basis for some other states?
