This is What they Turned Grocery Shopping Into

If you’re blessed to live in one of the states that didn’t do one of these forced shutdowns, this meme might not mean much to you. But for those of us who are hated by the universe and who have lunatics serving as governors, these shutdowns are getting pretty crazy. This meme highlights some of the absurdities of our lives right now.

It really is like the arcade classic Pac-Man if you try to shop at a grocery store right now. If you could look inside some grocery stores from a top-down view, it probably looks a lot like a rat maze.

The entrance that you park nearest to is roped off. Then you wait in a line to get a shopping cart after the store employee has disinfected it. Then you go wait in another line to get in the store. You can only enter the store after another customer leaves the store.

You must remain 6 feet away from all other shoppers at all times, otherwise you get yelled at on the intercom by the person watching you on the security camera. When you finally have all your items, you wait in another line until the guard with a walkie-talkie tells you which checkout line you can go to… and so on.

One day, we’re going to ask ourselves the inevitable question: was it all worth it?
