When immigrants fleeing socialist countries like Cuba and Venezuela finally make their way to a capitalist country like the United States, what is one of the first things you think they notice when they settle down?
Progressives may be under the impression that they would be upset with suddenly having to pay for their own healthcare, aren’t guaranteed a job, or something else along those lines. The fact of the matter is, however, that a simple trip to a grocery store might feel like an amusement park because our stores actually have food in them.
Every single country with a socialist government has had to deal with mass starvation — every single one. Even going back as far as the days of the Soviet Union, Russians old enough to remember the Communist era still recall experiences like what you see at the top of this image. At the time of writing, Venezuela can’t even power its electrical grid after years of centralizing everything and gross mismanagement. We all know what the food supply situation is.
The lesson here is simple: don’t vote for socialists.
