Despite videos showing gun owners intentionally destroying their own AR-15s going viral, the rest of America’s pro-gun community isn’t surrendering its rights so willingly.
As is the case with any media-hyped mass shooting, sales of guns and ammunition are climbing considerably in the wake of the attack in Parkland, Florida. In the past, much of this economic activity was directed toward major retailers and online vendors like the ones mentioned in the meme to the left, but each of them have adopted new restrictive policies to virtue signal their support for gun control.
Now, at face value, one might assume this leads to a drop in gun sales overall. Nonsense. Instead, younger Americans are simply bringing their business elsewhere — namely to smaller gun shops that still respect the Second Amendment.
It’s really hard to tell what Google, Walmart, and Dick’s Sporting Goods are trying to accomplish by refusing to sell certain firearms to legal adults. If anything, they’ve just bolstered support for a position they oppose.
