Trump’s War Room Under Fire – Leftist Watchdog Goes Nuclear

The left’s favorite legal battering ram is back at it. This time, the Soros-funded agitators at American Oversight are suing President Trump’s national security team over—wait for it—a group chat. Yes, apparently “Signal-gate” is the latest manufactured scandal that’s supposed to make conservatives clutch their pearls. Except nobody’s buying it.

The lawsuit, filed in a D.C. federal court, targets several senior Trump officials—including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Their supposed crime? Discussing military matters in a Signal group chat that accidentally included a journalist.

That journalist was none other than Jeffrey Goldberg, Editor-in-Chief of The Atlantic—because of course it was. The man who’s made a career smearing conservatives was mistakenly added to a private group chat and suddenly became the Left’s new martyr. American Oversight, which calls itself “nonpartisan” (stop laughing), is now demanding an investigation and attempting to recover “unlawfully deleted messages.”

Apparently, the new standard for “national security scandal” is an accidental text chain—because that’s what counts for news in Biden’s America. Forget about the classified documents scattered across Joe’s garage or Hunter Biden’s laptop full of international backdoor deals—no, what really needs a full-court legal press is a few Trump officials talking shop over a secure app.

Let’s be clear: there was no classified information shared, no leaks of operational secrets, and no damage to national security—just an accidental inclusion of a journalist who ran to his keyboard like a giddy teenager with a high school rumor. And still, American Oversight wants a full investigation, lawsuits, and public shaming.

This is the same group that’s spent years going after Republicans while pretending to be some noble “good government” outfit. They’ve never launched a serious probe into the Clinton Foundation, Hunter’s shady art sales, or the Biden family’s Chinese business entanglements. But the moment Trump’s national security officials send a Signal message? Suddenly it’s DEFCON 1.

According to American Oversight’s interim executive director, Chioma Chukwu, the use of the app was a “five-alarm fire” for national accountability. She went so far as to call it “potentially a crime.” Seriously? Using Signal is a crime now? Maybe someone should tell Hillary Clinton, who deleted over 30,000 emails and acid-washed her server. Oh wait—they gave her a pass.

The Trump administration, for its part, isn’t sweating this nonsense. Both Tulsi Gabbard and John Ratcliffe testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee that nothing classified was discussed. They’ve even agreed to a full audit of the conversation to put the issue to rest.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth slammed Goldberg’s selective storytelling and reaffirmed that no war plans were discussed. Even President Trump weighed in, telling Newsmax’s Greg Kelly that he is “very comfortable” with the explanation. Translation: there’s no scandal here—just another desperate witch hunt to try to trip up a president who’s actually leading.

Meanwhile, while the Left hyperventilates about Signal chats, Trump’s team just executed successful strikes on Houthi terrorists in Yemen. The Biden administration let these thugs run wild, attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea with impunity. But under Trump, they’re getting turned into charcoal—and the American people are safer for it.

And let’s not ignore the irony here. While European officials fret about the trans-Atlantic alliance and whine that Trump expects them to pay their fair share, the president’s team is busy getting the job done. VP JD Vance, Hegseth, and Stephen Miller reportedly voiced their frustration with European freeloaders during the chat—something most Americans agree with. Enough with the U.S. footing the bill while Brussels sips lattes.

Bottom line: this “controversy” is nothing more than a media stunt wrapped in a legal tantrum. The real problem isn’t what Trump officials said—it’s that they’re doing their jobs and winning.
