Legend Sets Up Fake Homeless Camp Outside Socialist's $2 Million Home — She's Not Laughing

Some absolute hero decided to deliver socialism right to a socialist's front door, and the results are exactly as glorious as you'd imagine. An advocacy group called Safe Cities USA staged a fake homeless encampment outside Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman's $2 million Silver Lake home over Memorial Day weekend — complete with tents, trash, old tires, and a barbecue — and the videos have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.

Funny how "housing for all" stops being a great idea when the tent is on YOUR lawn.

Raman, who currently represents Council District 4 on the LA City Council, has spent her political career championing the kind of policies that turned Los Angeles into an open-air campground. Safe Cities USA decided she needed to experience the consequences firsthand. The anonymous organizer told FOX 11's Matthew Seedorff, "This is happening all over the city. We brought it to her doorstep so she can see what other people are going through."

The poetic justice here is almost too perfect. According to Louder With Crowder and RedState, the group distributed flyers reading "No BBQ For You" — a jab at Raman's proposed bill to ban barbecues on red flag days — and "Keep LA A Sh*thole," which, honestly, could be her actual campaign slogan at this point.

Raman, of course, played the victim card. She told podcast host Adam Conover, "I have two little kids. They didn't see it, luckily, this morning. I feel badly that I'm even subjecting them to that at all. But definitely, this has gone far beyond what I expected this campaign to be about."

Your kids didn't see it. Cool. You know who can't avoid seeing it? Every family in Los Angeles who lives next to an actual encampment because of politicians like you.

The organizer wasn't backing down one inch. "We're basically doing a parody ad for her. Like if we were in charge of her campaign, this is the ad we would make," he told FOX 11. When asked if he felt bad about upsetting Raman, he fired back: "It's a public street. I can see why she's upset, but she should think about everybody else."

Safe Cities USA released a statement making their position crystal clear: "Residents and businesses have had enough. We finally have a mayoral candidate who is passionate, knowledgeable and willing to run the city using common sense." That candidate, for the record, is reality TV star Spencer Pratt, who is surging in the mayoral race while Raman sits in second place according to a UC Berkeley poll.

We live in a timeline where Spencer Pratt might be the most sensible candidate for mayor of America's second-largest city. That's not a joke about Pratt — that's an indictment of everyone else.

The organizer says Safe Cities USA is backed by "a group of donors from across the country" and claims he's never even met Pratt. This wasn't a campaign stunt. It was citizens who are sick of watching their city drown in needles and tent cities while politicians like Raman mock their concerns — which she literally did at a 2024 town hall when constituents raised alarms about drug encampments near schools.

Socialism is a beautiful theory right up until someone parks it on your front lawn. Nithya Raman just got a taste of her own policies, and she didn't like the flavor one bit.
