Karl Marx’s ‘Communist Manifesto’ — Abridged

Over a century ago, Prussian-born writer and disgruntled poet (seriously…) Karl Marx met his counterpart Friedrich Engels to collaborate on a work of fiction that would change the world forever.

The Communist Manifesto isn’t a very long read. In fact, audiobook versions don’t run much longer than an hour and a half. How it took two people to write it is beyond us, considering the bulk of it is simple conjecture on how the ruling class inherently oppresses everything that moves.

But, we can simplify Marxism even further, as we see in the image to the left.

Discounting his emphasis on historical class struggle, the solutions Marx proposes in this literary work and his other notable contribution, Dat Capital, essentially boil down to stripping all resources of their value and making them free for everyone who wants them.

We also found it particularly humorous that Marx is referred to as “hungry Santa” in this meme — because virtually every state that has employed his philosophy has witnessed mass starvation.
