If you asked someone in the year 1990 what the world will be like several decades later, they might respond with flying cars, robots occupying every profession, or maybe even space travel being as commonplace as air travel.
Boy, would they be disappointed…
While technological advances have certainly been substantial, specifically in the realm of communication, perhaps the biggest change has been cultural. Since humanity’s inception, it was well understood that there are of course two genders, and each individual becomes one or the other and is unable to change that.
Today, as represented on the right side of the image to the left, the topic of gender has become a thorough discussion — for reasons that still confuse the average person. Suddenly, basic pronouns are a product of an evil order of patriarchal villains, and refusing to date someone of the same sex who identifies as the opposite gender is considered bigoted.
Perhaps we were better off in 1990…
