The latest woke hot take comes from the Equality Institute, whatever that means. Apparently, it’s deeply problematic and discriminatory to suggest that women are the only people who can get pregnant, despite the fact that this is an entirely truthful statement.
You know where this is going — the little “factoid” here (which is actually a falsehood in the highest order) refers to the fact that biological women can elect to identify as a man or some other made up gender, and still have a functioning uterus. According to the Equality Institute, this means that we should refer to “pregnant people” instead, because everyone can get pregnant now.
We’ve hit on this topic many times, and it’s no less frustrating each time we do it. Gender is biology, and you can’t change it.
