How White Liberals View Themselves on Social Media

If social justice warriors are right about one thing, the “white savior complex” is definitely real — but it doesn’t come from conservatives as is often alleged.

Virtue signaling is probably the most cringe-worthy phenomenon to hit any social media platform, and you probably see it everyday. For white liberals, sharing or creating anti-white content as a means to appease their friends of color is just as racist as they think conservatives are.

This scene in particular is a perfect match for this sentiment. Taken from HBO’s Game of Thrones, it shows the character Daenerys Targaryen being worshipped by newly-free slaves — an episode which was actually met with scorn from many on the left.

Feeling the need to show solidarity with a particular demographic over a social cause is one thing — assuming you’re some kind of savior for doing so is nothing short of sheer arrogance.

For a movement that is so obsessed with race and intersectionality, you would think young progressives would treat minority groups with more respect.
