The 1990s were a wonderful time, weren’t they? Our readers may be more fond of other decades, but we all remember when everyone decided that hair spray was out and flannel shirts were in. We also had timeless hits like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and the even more iconic “I did not have sex with that woman” from then-President Bill Clinton.
It’s fascinating to look back on this decade — and not only for the cringe-worthy cultural things happening at the time. If the political pundits of the day had a time machine — be it Rush Limbaugh or George Stephanopolous (who was working for the Clintons at the time) — they wouldn’t recognize what American politics have become. Back then, the Clintons were dear friends with the Trumps, and almost everyone either joked about Donald Trump himself being president one day.
Well, it turns out that Trump became a Republican at some point between then and now, so we have to pretend that endearing friendship didn’t exist at all.
At least Hillary Clinton got her wish, right?
