The regressive left’s hatred for President Donald Trump makes a lot more sense when you consider that the billionaire businessman represents everything they could never be.
Sure, it’s true that President of the United States is actually Trump’s first political office. But, it’s his private sector career that made him what we all know him to be.
For all of the faults in his personal life, which include but are not limited to his failed marriages and less-than-reputable interactions with other members of the opposite sex, Trump’s celebrity is rooted in capitalist principles.
Sure, he has a number of bankruptcies under his belt, but that’s mainly because he refused to give up as a businessman when one venture failed. And sure, his political positions seem hard to pinpoint at times, but we could chalk that up to the fact that he is actually willing to consider what the opposition thinks. Both of these things are like kryptonite for the regressive left, and that’s a big part of why they hate him so much.
