Don’t expect any coverage of the Trump administration from Brian Ross of ABC News any time soon.
After Ross critically misreported a story about former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, ABC News executives decided he was no longer worth the risk. In addition to barring him from covering any Trump-related topics in the future, the reporter was suspended for four weeks without pay, according to USA Today.
In the initial report, Ross claimed federal investigators uncovered evidence that Flynn had been directed by Donald Trump to make contact with the Russians as a candidate, rather than as president-elect as factually reported.
It is not in any way abnormal for incoming presidents to contact foreign governments before being formally sworn in, particularly when said governments are considered integral to various global issues such as the fight agains the Islamic State.
By blatantly exposing his own bias against President Trump, Ross has confirmed what most Americans already know: that there is an inherent bias against conservatives and Republicans in the media.
