Not long ago, when President Barack Obama was in office, Democrats loved to joke about Republican “obstructionism” — and couldn’t fathom the idea that some people out there just might disagree with them on something.
Now that Republicans are in charge, and the Obama legacy is slowly being stripped away, this hysteria is reaching a level even we couldn’t have predicted.
Take the two most recent examples: tax cuts and net neutrality. Both policies really don’t change the country too much, with the exception being that some companies will have more control over their own products and taxpayers will get to keep a little bit more of their own money.
By all accounts, these are very moderate changes, but Democrats are treating it as if the world as they know it is crashing and burning.
This meme captures this sentiment perfectly. If you listen to the mainstream media, it almost seems as if the Republican Party has built up some kind of bodycount by simply taking government out of the way.
