If there was any central theme for President Donald Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address, it was how amazing the United States of America is.
After spending a good amount of time talking about the economy, border security, and other legislative priorities, the president turned his focus to the core of what makes America special. He spoke about American heroism in World War II. He talked about how individuals of all walks of life can truly chart their own path by living in the freest country in the world. But, the best part came when he addressed the increasing popularity of socialism in the country.
Casting aside all doubts about his vision for the future of the country, President Trump proudly proclaimed: “America will never be a socialist country.”
At that moment, the camera immediately panned over to Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, a man who calls himself a socialist. The look on his face was something to behold: the chamber cheered as the socialist’s face appeared to cave in on itself — he was that angry. It was truly one of the best parts of the night.
