During the Supreme Court confirmation hearings this week, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) asked nominee Amy Coney Barrett if the committee could know what she was referring to in her notes. Barrett had been answering a wide variety of questions on intricate legal questions that span several centuries of US jurisprudence.
It was a viral moment when Barrett held up her notepad – and it was BLANK!
What Barrett probably didn’t realize is that anytime a person in the public limelight holds up a blank sheet of paper, that person is about to enter legendary meme status. The internet was immediately flooded with memes, as every Trump-supporting meme creator in the world seized the moment.
To be honest, we had a hard time even choosing one to share with you, because there are now hundreds of Barrett notepad memes all across social media. Some of the memes left the notepad blank and captioned the picture with statements like, “List of Hillary Clinton’s Supreme Court Nominees” or “Number of Democrat Votes Required to Confirm Barrett.”
We settled on this one, because every time there’s a Supreme Court confirmation hearing, you can rest assured that Cory Booker will emerge as the biggest drama queen.
