Never Trumper Bill Kristol urged Republican voters to back Democrats “for a time” and declared his support for a presidential ticket in 2024 that would be led by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Over the weekend, Kristol spoke to a group of disgruntled Republicans on the necessity of eliminating “Trump Republicans” from the party.
It turns out that some individuals enjoy demagoguery, bigotry, and other such things if you let the toothpaste out of the tube, so to speak. It’s difficult to get it back,” remarked Kristol. “You can’t just lecture them.”
At the Principles First Summit, which was hosted at the Conrad Hotel in Washington, DC, Kristol made a few remarks. The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), was held the same weekend. The summit was “implicitly intended as a counterpoint” to the conference, which featured renowned Never Trumpets.
A prospective Whitmer presidential combination with Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) serving as vice president also received endorsement from Kristol.
Regarding the possible ticket, Kristol remarked, “That’s alright with me.
There were approximately 300 attendees in the Conrad Hotel, which is less than one-fourth the size of CPAC.
During her appearance, former Virginia representative Barbara Comstock (R) compared Trump to a “disease” that is “is going to destroy” the party further.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin, a talk show host, Olivia Troye, a former Mike Pence staffer, and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), a former congressman, were the opening speakers.
