New Poll Shows Who Republicans Trust More With Crime

Rasmussen Reports found in a poll released this week that most potential Republican voters in the primary election trust former President Trump more than any of his Republican rivals to handle the problem of crime.

In the poll, people were asked, “Which contender do you have confidence in the most when it comes to crime and law enforcement?”

Most likely GOP voters, 51%, went with Trump, followed by 10% who chose Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and 7% who chose anti-woke billionaire Vivek Ramaswmay. All of the others had less than 3 percent approval. Notably, Trump’s number went up among “very likely” voters, who now trust him more than anyone else to deal with crime.

The New York City Police Dept. (NYPD) says that four attackers are still on the run after kicking, whipping, and stabbing a 46-year-old male outside of a Queens bar earlier this month.

“Progressive criminal justice policies” are also blamed by likely Republican supporters for making crime worse all over the country. 81% said that it is at least somewhat possible that the rise in crime was caused by policies that were more liberal. Sixty-six percent of those asked said it is “very likely.”

Also, the poll found that 83% of potential Republican voters supported at least somewhat a bill that would let woke attorneys be fired. This is something that Governor Ron DeSantis has already done in the Sunshine State.

Between August 19 and 21, 2023, 818 potential Republican primary voters took part in the poll, which has a margin of error of +/- 3%. It comes as crime keeps getting worse in places run by Democrats, like Chicago, where 40 people were shot this past week and seven of them died.

Over the past few days, there was also violence in Philadelphia, which is run by Democrats. Several shooters opened fire at a block party, hurting eight people and killing one as young as 17 years old.
