According to Civiqs polls released Monday, Senator Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) popularity has reached a new low.
McConnell is viewed favorably by only 7% of voters, while he is disliked by 81%. McConnell is supported by barely 18% of Republicans and 61% are opposed.
According to Civiqs polls dating back to 2018, McConnell never has had a favorable rating of only 7%. McConnell’s approval rating was 8% in February 2021, rising to 12% in June 2021. Since then, it has stayed between 8% and 11%.
During the final two years of Trump’s presidency, McConnell had a substantially higher favorability rating, reaching upwards of 31% in Feb. and Oct. 2020.
McConnell’s very low approval rating comes as he prepares to run for reelection as GOP Senate leader on Wednesday, perhaps losing one more Seat in the senate than Republicans held prior to the 2022 election. Dems will win a seat if Republican Georgia Senate nominee Herschel Walker loses in the runoff.
Several Republicans have objected to having the election on Wednesday, citing the unresolved Georgia election. Others continue to back McConnell since no senator appears to have directly challenged McConnell for leadership.
The national debt has risen to more than $20 trillion under McConnell’s leadership, illegal migration has persisted, real incomes for the American workers have barely budged, Obamacare was implemented in 2010, major banks were bailed out during 2008, and social media firms have silenced people without consequences. Dr. Anthony Fauci is still unaccountable for reportedly lying to Congress two times.

I’d say it’s because our public (and private, to some degree) schools have been failing us for decades. Americans are incapable of logical, critical thinking. They often vote for a name they recognize. “An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people.” And, in addition to our populace being uninformed and uneducated, they are immoral narcissists. They vote for whoever they think will give them the most “free” stuff. The problem is, no one told them there is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone ALWAYS pays.
