109 members of the Iowa National Guard were sent to the southern border of Mexico on August 2, 2023, by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds in an effort to stem the flow of unauthorized immigrants entering the country.
On the same day, Reynolds stated that this project would be paid for with money from the American Rescue Plan Act, also known as the Wuhan virus relief plan, which was given to Iowa. The governor of Iowa said that this package gives state governments more freedom over how to spend the money.
In a statement, Reynolds said, “The Biden administration has repeatedly failed to deal with the crisis at the border, and by doing so, it has failed the American people, including Iowans.”
“They have made one of the biggest national security and humanitarian problems of our time, and they don’t care about how it affects our states, cities, and people.”
“Since the government won’t spend money to protect its people and secure the border, Texas has reached out to other states for help, and Iowa is willing and able to help.”
Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, started this trend of state governments attempting to deal with immigration enforcement when he started Operation Lone Star in the month of March 2021 to deal with the Zerg Rush of illegal immigrants that was taking over the Lone Star State.
Additional Republican governors have sent soldiers to the border to increase security after Abbott announced his proposal for border enforcement.
US Customs and Border Protection says that since President Joe Biden took office, the US Border Patrol has run into close to 6 million illegal immigrants at the southern border. Reynolds says that the current situation at the southern border is caused by the policies of the Biden administration.
“On his very first day in office, President Biden changed policies that made sense and protected the southern border of the United States and the people who live there,” she said.
“Since then, our country has seen a huge increase in the number of illegal aliens and illegal drugs coming in. After two years, every state is considered a border state, and because of its strategic location at the confluence of two important highways, Iowa has become a target for drug cartels and people traffickers.”
The National Guard forces started their move on August 2, according to the governor’s office. This will be in place until September 1. During this time, these National Guard units will help stop the drug trade through Texas and stop illegal immigrants from crossing the border into the United States.
The Iowa Dept. of Public Safety will send several Iowa State Patrol officers to accompany these troops on August 31.
This mission will last until October 2 and is meant to help Texas State Troopers catch criminals, stop crime, enforce traffic laws, and help with law enforcement.
Since 2020, Reynold has dispatched soldiers to the southern border three times.
In fact, the federal government is probably not going to solve the problem of mass migration any time soon. In the meantime, states will have to do more to protect their borders. This will not only bring attention to the problem, but it will also give the country time to stop a huge influx of illegal immigrants that could change the country’s population for generations to come.

Biden and the Democrats are expecting them to vote in the next election. They are not American citizens and should not be allowed to vote or get any freebees and should all be deported. The taxpayers are having to cover the cost of housing, food and education for these invaders. They are getting things that the American citizen cannot get. . Why,? Because the Democrats think that when they vote, they will vote for them. Another vote getter using the taxpayers money. This has got to stop. We need Trump more than we ever have before.

Looks like Texas and Iowa are two states that have alot of sense. Thank-you both for your help in the border crisis . I sure hope all the people in Texas and Iowa want vote democrat. They know the sorry ass democrats are know dam good more . We need new people in the White House and congress and the Senate the whole dam regime needs a good cleaning out. The so called president needs to be impeached right away and the stupid vice president they both need impeached.
