Even the New York Times admits that Hunter Biden is a political headache for the president. The First Son currently faces a federal gun charge and has repeatedly put his father Joe in an unfavorable spotlight with his addiction to drugs, disturbing sex life, questionable art career, and other things he did while his dad was vice president. He is now facing a federal gun charge.
But Joe Biden is unable to say no to his only living son, and the Times reluctantly admits that this has put the president in “unexpected political danger.”
The story says that when the president heard that Hunter might be charged, he got in a bad mood.
“A number of people closest to him who spoke on the grounds of anonymity to protect their ties with the Biden family said, He fell into sadness and anger. His friends say that since then when he talks about Hunter, he has a tone of acceptance that wasn’t there before.”
In private, the president’s aides have worried that his failure to take the Hunter issue seriously has cost him a lot of political capital.
“Hunter attempted to include Biden in his business operations,” and according to the newspaper, his associates “have discreetly criticized Mr. Biden’s apparent inability to simply say no.”
“Some of the president’s friends say that his loyalty to his son, such as asking him to state dinners, riding with him on Marine One, as well as standing on the White House balcony alongside him, has caused political problems that could have been avoided.”
One of the first things you learn as a parent is that sometimes you just have to say “NO.” Ignore this lesson at your own risk. Biden still doesn’t seem to have learned this lesson.
“People who know both guys say that their friendship is one of a kind in how strong it is. Friends of President Biden, who is proud of his political and human instincts, say that he has sometimes been too nice to his younger son Hunter and hasn’t been able to tell him no, despite Hunter’s problems and a long list of bad choices.”
The rest of the piece is a long list of Joe and Hunter’s pasts. It’s mostly a sympathetic look at Hunter’s famous problems and Joe’s amazing loyalty. But it’s hard to believe this claimed family loyalty when the president wouldn’t even talk to his own granddaughter Navy Joan Roberts, Hunter’s daughter, for a full four years.
It is interesting that the New York Times chose to write about how the president’s friendship with his son is costing him politically now. After all, this is the very same rag that denied for almost two years the fact that the “Laptop from Hell” was even real.
I think it means that the steady flow of bad news from congressional probes and the leaks of worry coming from the White House show that claiming these are merely right-wing talking points is simply no longer working. Even the left-leaning Times knows they can’t keep hiding the smell of corruption indefinitely.

Joe Biden is a disgrace of a father as well as a president. He idolizes his deceased son when talking to parents of dead soldiers and always makes it about him. If he loved Beau so much why did he condone the sexual relationship between Beau’s widow and his disgusting second son, Hunter? Not saying “no” is just one of his mistakes as a parent. But the apple (Hunter) doesn’t fall far from that tree(Joe). Lying seems to be in their genetic make up. And step mommy dearest, Jill, doesn’t seem to have helped much. Sad family dynamics. Navy needs to run as far away from the family name as possible and refuse their phone calls.
I have been saying from the very beginning, that Biden was going to be the worse president in History. This guy is a filthy liar and can give an inch of a truth.
He hasn’t lost any political support. He didn’t have any to start with. The Democrats put him into office, he wasn’t voted in.
