J. Michael Luttig, a retired federal judge, claimed on “CNN This Morning” this week that the absence of the Republican Party poses a serious threat to “American democracy.”
“Judge, you informed our colleague after the most recent indictment came down this past week that these are the most grave offenses against the U.S. as a president is able to commit, aside from perhaps treason,” queried anchor Poppy Harlow. “I caution our audience. You represent conservatism in its purest form. In the surveys, Trump is vastly in the lead. Republicans are lining up behind him in the government. What, in your opinion, has transpired with your party?”
“The Republican Party doesn’t really interest me, save from the fact that the two major American political parties serve as the defenders of our nation’s democracy,” Luttig said. “Without two political parties that are both healthy and powerful, American democracy cannot exist. Therefore, in my opinion, there isn’t a Republican Party in this nation today to oppose the Democratic Party. America’s democracy is in great danger as a result.”
Harlow questioned, “There isn’t a Republican Party?”
“In my opinion, let me clarify, a political party is a group, an aggregation of people who share a common set of ideas, beliefs, and policy viewpoints towards the United States. Within the Republican Party for America today, there is no longer a similar set of common ideas, values, or even policy viewpoints. We just do not have two rival parties in America until or unless the GOP is able to bring itself together back into a legitimate Republican political party.”

We figured that out a long time ago. Most are the old boys that have been and DC for decades and are addicted to the rich lifestyle. I’m tired of them and feel that many have to go. They do us no good but they live very well. I want to go back to the old times when people used to have some integrity and one’s word was worth something. Now we just have to find good people for a real citizen government that would allow others in. Those there should be actually working for us.
