Cher, a left-wing pop artist, has said that she will leave the country if former President Trump is re-elected. Cher claims that during Trump’s election in 2016, she “almost developed an ulcer.”
In an interview with the Guardian that was published this week, Cher said, “I almost developed a stomach ulcer the last time Trump won the presidency. If he wins, who knows for sure? I’ve decided to leave the country this time around.”
During the 2020 election, Cher backed President Biden and even made a new version of her hit song “Happiness Is Simply A Thing Called Joe” for his presidential campaign. The singer of “Believe” had previously backed Hillary Clinton, Trump’s rival in the 2016 race.
The pop star has no problem letting everyone know how she feels about politics.
A year ago, when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Cher went on a Twitter rant in all caps, calling Trump’s “radical Republican High Court responsible for the untimely deaths of many thousands of American women.”
The singer also said that the end of the world would happen, stating that the Court’s choice to save lives would be “the starting point of the end of freedom.” “WOMEN ARE GOING TO DIE” and “DEMOCRACY WILL WITHER and DIE, & DICTATORS WILL BE THRIVING” were among Cher’s outbursts in reaction to Texas’ pro-life law.
When Glenn Youngkin was named the winner of the state of Virginia’s gubernatorial race in 2021, the “I’ve Got You Babe” singer lost it. She said that the “GOP are Nazis” and would turn America into a “white’s only club.”
Cher launched another all-caps rant in 2020, calling President Trump the term “mass murderer.” In a tweet that she eventually deleted, she even suggested “death” as a sentence.
During President Trump’s Gettysburg address the same year, the pop artist declared in public that she wished “the ground would open” beneath him and that “we would never see Trump again.”
She along with dozens of other celebs vowed to leave in 2016. They all are still here. Just another publicity stunt by has bee’s.
