Here’s Why Electric Cars Will Never be Anything but a Rich Boy’s Fad

There’s nothing quite like having your electric car die in the middle of nowhere and having to haul a gas-powered generator out there to recharge it. Probably. We wouldn’t know from experience, because we can’t afford an electric car.

This meme perfectly encapsulates the fatal flaw of electric cars and explains the reason why we will never get rid of so-called “fossil fuels.” No matter how jazzy that electric car is and no longer how many hours (not days) its battery lasts, it’s still going to need to recharge. And that usually means plugging in to a coal-powered source of electricity in this country.

No matter how much the rich elites like Pete Buttigieg and Stephen Colbert want us all to drive electric cars, it just ain’t happening. Aside from the prohibitive cost of these rich-boy toys, most of us don’t belong to the Democrat Party’s weird weather cult.

We know that America can produce enough energy – cheaply – to fuel all our SUVs and heat our homes. The people in charge just have to let that happen. The next time someone urges you to buy an electric car, just remember this meme.

  1. Not to mention, my grandson has a PowerWheels car that’s just about as effective and attractive as the garbage they’re trying to push us into, and I’m tired of having to recharge it every mile or so. A street legal model will be just as inconvenient, and unacceptable for someone like me. I’ll go find myself a pre-1980 gas powered vehicle and run leaded gas in it before I would even consider electric. And I might do it anyway just in protest.

    1. Amen to the pre-1980 gas-powered vehicle! No computer, therefore also EMP-proof, and easy to maintain! Being a ‘Boomer’, I love the non-computer cars! They just performed with normal maintenance. Yes, I drive a 2010 Prius Hybrid, which I love for the MPG, but I’d prefer a 1960’s-era VW for simplicity, economy, and ease of maintenance.

      1. Plus, those are water tight, when you get caught by a flash flood! & You can roll a window down to escape, if need be!

    2. THERE IS NO GAS CRISIS OTHER THAN THE LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS THIS IDIOT BIDEN AND HIS WOKE GREEN NEW DEAL ZEALOTS ARE IMPOSING ON THE GAS INDUSTRY.

AMERICAN HAS MORE OIL THAN ANY OTHER COUNTRY.
AMERICAN IS ALSO RICH IN STUPID CROOKS, BIDEN IS PROOF!

  2. The green new deal is the biggest scam perpetuated on mankind. It is only a way for corrupt politicians to become even richer!!

    1. Was an early Tesla owner. Never liked the car but Thanksgiving 2020 ended any use whatsoever. Due to new lower priced models the wait to recharge at the Tesla supercharger was two plus hours. Try that added to a 4 hour drive each way and you also will return to fossil fuel. Give me a throaty 500 plus horsepower gas guzzler anytime. There has been no published study done showing how much energy is required to build the batteries and charge them. I suspect it exceeds the use of gas to drive them.

      1. Plus the computer chips which also have large carbon footprints. Then there’s battery disposal when it no longer take a charge, another carbon expenditure. & The $20K pricetag for the new batteries …

  3. The e-motor is good for stationary applications. For mobility the ONLY useful fuel are the hydrocarbons, aka as fossil fuels. There is no way around that. Not even hydrogen on its own will do.

  4. These GREEN NEW DEAL IDIOTS REMIND ME OF Those very old nuts carrying signs through the streets reading “End of the world ”
Only difference is cartoon ” THE SKY IS FALLING ”
That’s DEMOCRATS slogan ” THE SKY IS FALLING ”
Only difference is instead of DEMOCRATS having us wear Tin foil hats , they MASK us
STOP THE RESTRICTION ON OUR OIL AND ENERGY COMPANIES!
AMERICANS ARE AWAKE , CAN’T SCARE TACTIC US ANYMORE!

  5. They act like electricity is free and comes out of nowhere. We all know that isn’t true. Politicians pushing this agenda just sound stupid.

  6. Any DEMOCRATS out there want to contribute to a struggling American
GO FUND ME PAGE so I can buy an ELECTRIC CAR .
