According to a recent I&I/TIPP Polls study, former Pres. Donald Trump’s probable 2024 presidential bid among Republicans has not been adversely affected by the FBI’s historic raid on his Mar-a-Lago residence.
A recent study compared its results to those from its previous survey, conducted between August 2 and 4 before the FBI raid. A month following the raid, on Sept 7–8, the most recent poll was conducted. However, it discovered that there was “minimal change” on issues pertaining to the presidential primary from Aug. thru Sept., indicating that Trump’s support among GOP voters, most of whom denounced the raid, has not been impacted.
The raid was referred to as “another increase in the weaponization of federal departments against the Administration’s political rivals” by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who the mainstream media usually likes to place against Trump.
54 percent of Republicans who were asked who they would back in the GOP primary responded Donald Trump. This is an increase from the 53% who expressed the same sentiment before the FBI raided his estate.
Additionally, it doesn’t seem that the FBI raid has any real impact on the midterm elections.
“In Sept, 48% of respondents said they preferred a Democratic-controlled Congress to a Republican-controlled one (46%). That’s practically a tossup with a +/-2.9 point margin of error. The corresponding figures were tied, 46% to 46%, in August.”
“But Democrats should be aware of some red flags. For one, 40% of Hispanics lean toward Republicans, compared to 52% leaning toward Democrats, while 59 percent of women and 49 percent of men said they would rather Republicans control Congress. Hispanics are still a key voting bloc for Democrats, but they now favor Republicans far more than they did in the past.”
Overall, the polls “clearly suggest that Mar-A-Lago has done little that is noticeable to change how people view the approaching election,” the survey adds, “If anything, this has made Trump somewhat more famous.”
The poll, which questioned 1,145 people between September 7 and 9, had a +/- 2.9 margin of error.
Trump has continued to criticize the FBI after its shocking social media raid earlier this month, claiming that investigators stole his passports and medical records.
Not only did the FBI break into my home, Mar-a-Lago, and steal my passports, but it has now come to light through court papers that they also illegally seized my complete and highly sensitive medical file and history, with all the bells and lights (but at least they will see that I am quite healthy, an absolutely great physical specimen! ), plus personal Tax Documents (Illegal to take), and Attorney/client/privileged information, a categorical NO, NO. Times of the Soviet Union.
“We are going to be doing it again,” Trump told supporters, strongly implying that he would run in 2024.
