Democrats Move For “Joint Control” Of The U.S. House

Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader of the House of Representatives (D-NY), stated on CNN’s “State of the Union” this week that Democrats were prepared to reach a bipartisan consensus to govern the House.

Jeffries stated, “As long as my Republican colleagues can’t end the ongoing Republican civil war, we have made it clear as Democrats that we are willing, able, and prepared to find common ground and pursue a bipartisan path forward. This means that we could run the House in a smart way that lets both Republicans and Democrats in the House vote on issues that have a lot of support from both parties, so that we can move forward by getting things done for the American people instead of letting the radicals in the House Republican party keep running the show.”

He went on, “We’ll be back in Washington on either Tuesday or Wednesday, and as House Democrats, we’ve stated from the beginning of this Congress that we are willing to work across party lines to find common ground between ourselves and our Republican colleagues wherever and whenever feasible, and we’ve shown that we can do that.”

Jeffries went on to say, “Democrats gave us the majority of votes we needed to avoid a terrible default on our debt that would’ve destroyed the economy. Democrats gave us the majority of votes we needed to prevent a government shutdown while making sure we could fund the government in a way that helped people in need, kept them safe, and looked out for their economic well-being. We’re ready, willing, and able to keep looking for a way to move forward that works for everyone.”

  1. hell no
and if it was the other way around you would not even think of doing something like that
it’s always been one party or the other
    and NOT JOINT
another way for demonrats to destroy what is left another dumb demonrats idea and control
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

  2. He is full of crap. Why does he think we would believe him? They will do anything to gain full control as evidenced in the 2020 election. Dems aren’t even happy with the clown we have as POTUS, but they would rather have him than someone that is not a criminal, corrupt, and incompetent. Holding on to power at any cost.

    1. Jeffries always speaks with a forked tongue and why Nancy Pelosi picked him for minority leader; two of a kind.
I put a large part of the blame on Gaetz and his cronies for creatiing this mess. I am from Florida and I will not for his reelection or a bid as Governor. He cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

  3. Every single thing he said is a lie. Dems want entire control of everything. They will not work in harmony with anyone.

  4. Unfortunately the democRATS never compromise, they demand their way or the highway! I’ll only believe them when I SEE them ACTUALLY WORK WITH republicans by compromising with the republicans to get GOOD things done!!

  5. Jeffries had the opportunity to demonstrate bipartisanship prior to the risk of the government shut down by detailing a budget that met Republican goals of reducing the deficit, reducing government spending but failed to do so. Democrats only pursuit of bipartisanship? when they joined the 8 republicans in ousting McCarthy. This demonstrated that trusting and working with Democrats is a thankless position.

  6. You notice he called the Republicans the radical ; for a moment there I actually thought he was trying to get things done for the good.
This proves how much power the Democrats have . Bold kic his as__ out
