According to a new study, the bulk of Hispanic Americans in GA approve the state’s demand that voters submit evidence of identification before casting an absentee ballot.
For years, Dems, the establishment media, and major corporations have claimed that having photo identification to vote is discriminatory and reduces non-white voter turnout.
Dem. Stacey Abrams, who is campaigning against Governor Brian Kemp (R) in Georgia’s governor’s race, has labeled voter ID laws “trying to rig the game” and a “defiance of American democracy,” despite electoral data showing that such laws do not lower voter turnout.
The University of Georgia research found that Hispanic Americans in Georgia strongly favor voter ID laws, like those that were passed in 2021 that require evidence of identity while voting by absentee ballot, by a margin of more than 61 percent.
Only 13% of Hispanic Americans in Georgia stated they opposed voter ID requirements, while the rest were undecided.
Georgia’s voter ID laws are most popular among Hispanic Americans aged 30 to 44, with more than 90 percent supporting such policies. Hispanic Americans aged 45 to 64 stated they favored voter ID laws by a margin of more than 73 percent.
Non-college-educated Hispanic Americans in Georgia favor the state’s voter ID legislation by an 80 percent majority, as do 91.5 percent of people earning an income in the working-class and 60 percent among those making a middle-class income.
The poll was conducted on Oct. 11 and 12 by the University of Georgia and included upwards of 300 self-identified American Hispanic potential voters. The error margin is +/- 5.6 percentage points
If I got to have an ID to buy beer, cigarettes, and get a bank account. What wrong showing an ID TO VOTE? Democrat can call it whatever they want to! I agree with you Wyatt. If I were a minority I would consider Dem. Stacey Abrams’ argument insulting. Everyone has the opportunity and need to acquire identification regardless of their race. In Ohio, a state identification card is FREE. Let me say that again; In Ohio, a state identification card is FREE. There are far more reasons to acquire identification than just voting. Try ordering a drink at a bar, buying cigarettes, opening a bank account, cashing a check, applying for government assistance, applying for a mortgage, or driving/buying/renting a car WITHOUT an ID. It would be impossible. I’ve been an election poll worker for 14 years. During that entire time, I’ve NEVER encountered ANYONE who objected or failed to provide identification. Most of the voters hand me their identification before I even ask for it. Stacey Abrams’ argument does not hold up. The sole logical reason can only be to allow Democrats the opportunity to defraud the voting process. When over half the country believes that, it’s time to conduct an independent investigation. That was not done. Only liberal court rulings determined whether voter fraud occurred during the 2020 election.
If the Democrats continue to push their illogical position and ignore the opinions of over half the country, they are going to further the divide among Americans to the point where there is no going back. Many conservatives are there already and want to be free of this nonsense. I’ll let the opposition decide what that means.
