After making threats toward Jewish students on campus via the Internet, a 21-year-old student of engineering at Cornell College was taken into custody this week. This incident caused the Ivy League school to be on high alert over the past few days.
A federal lawsuit named Patrick Dai, a Pittsford, New York resident and Cornell student accusing him of utilizing interstate communications to make posts threatening to murder or harm another person. If found guilty, he faces up to five years in prison.
Federal authorities say Dai sent threatening messages through the Cornell part of an online chat site. These messages included ones that called for the deaths of Jews and one that said “gonna shoot up 104 west.”
Police at Cornell University stated that 104 West happens to be a university eating hall that serves kosher food and also is right next to the Cornell Jewish Center, which is a place for students to live on campus.
Dai reportedly said in another post that he would “stab” plus “slit the throat” of any Jewish men he spots on campus, rape and push off a cliff every single Jewish woman he sees, and cut off the heads of any Jewish kids he sees.
Dai was allegedly threatening that he would “kill all you pig jews on campus with an assault rifle.”
The Northern District of New York United States Attorney’s Office stated that Dai could face up to five years in jail, a $250,000 fine, in addition to up to three years of controlled release because of the charge that was brought against him.
The New York Post was informed by Dai’s parents that their son had “severe depression,” but they also stated that they think he is innocent and that, shortly before his detention, he was on the verge of suicide.
“Prior to 2021, he was helpful to my family and his classmates, well-organized, and very nice to society,” the student’s father stated. “He told us he had lost his dreams and drive in life… I tried to love him more as a parent.”
According to Breitbart News, the killing of many Jews in Israel has inspired students all over the U.S. to hold pro-Palestinian as well as anti-Israel rallies on university campuses and make pro-terrorist statements. Many people have become shocked to see how common antisemitism is on university campuses.

A lot of the blame for this must be placed on the colleges themselves. They foster an atmosphere of wokeness, cancel culture, ignorance and denial of free speech. Anti-Semitism is a natural product of this atmosphere. What has happened to our country? These kids have no idea the hatred they have perpetrated on society. I don’t get it. Is this the kind of education we can expect from these colleges? What happened to a proper education to better yourself and society? I’ve never seen so much hatred from children. This is beginning in the home. When I was a child and you said the kind of things these kids today say, I would’ve been beaten by my old man. He never tolerated any kind of behavior like this. It just wasn’t there. I’m glad I went to trade school and got an education and not an indoctrination.
