According to The NY Post, the White House attempted to persuade the Dem Mayor of El Paso, TX, not to issue an emergency in response to an inflow of undocumented immigrants. Doing so would cast a terrible image on President Joe Biden.
According to the New York Times, the Biden admin. advised Democratic Mayor Oscar Leeser not to make the disclosure during a phone call, citing an individual who stated he made the confession during a private phone call. At least three El Paso city leaders pushed Leeser to declare the influx of illegal migrants an emergency.
According to the New York Times, Councilmember Claudia Rodriguez stated, “He informed me that the White House asked him to not do so.”
According to the New York Times, Leeser repeatedly told Rodriguez that he would make the decision “if circumstances became worse.”
During the influx, El Paso has been lodging, feeding, and providing other sorts of local relief to illegal migrants. In August, the city also started busing illegal immigrants to New York City.
The city sees an average of 900 illegal immigrants every day and estimates that it will cost millions of dollars to maintain its support operations.
“What the admin. is doing is a sleight of hand — forcing city governments not to declare an emergency, to seem as if everything is fine,” GOP Texas Rep. Tony Gonzales, whose district includes border communities near El Paso, told the New York Times.
According to US Customs and Border Protection, federal border agents encountered nearly 2,000,000 migrants along the southern border between Oct. 2021 and August 2022.

Sadly, the US is so broke, the money for the handouts have to be put on the US credit card – the one with the $31 Trillion Ballance and growing. At some point, an announcement that all retirement pensions, Social Security, Medicare, bank accounts, land, and housing must be forfeit to the govt to cover the debt.
