What’s Up with Mitt Romney’s Black Eye?

Is it okay to talk about all the prominent politicians that somehow keep giving themselves black eyes? We don’t have a big conspiracy theory about why this keeps happening, we just find it remarkably odd.

This meme popped up on the web this week after Utah Senator Mitt Romney (not pictured in this meme) turned up with a massive black eye and an unknown number of stitches from his lip all the way up to his eyebrow. He supposedly “fell.” You know, just like an abused wife in a Hallmark Channel movie.

George W. Bush, John McCain, John Kerry and Harry Reid have all “fallen” over the years or had some sort of bizarre mishap, in which they all received black eyes. Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid supposedly gave himself a black eye on two separate occasions while slipping on his own exercise equipment.

When’s the last time you fell down and gave yourself a black eye, or had an accident in the gym and gave yourself a shiner? Probably never, right?

Oh, and we forgot about Joe Biden! Remember when he was getting out of the shower and grabbed his dog’s tail and broke his foot? Actually, that one’s probably true. But as for the rest of those black eyes, what do you think is going on?
