Not to freak anyone out, but George Miller’s original post-apocalyptic film starring Mel Gibson as the titular character Mad Max was, in fact, set in 2021. Hey, how is the economy and how are fuel prices nowadays, anyway? Asking for a friend.
Not to drive the point home too much, but the dystopian future envisioned by Miller involved the world going to hell in a handbasket because of dwindling fuel reserves. Who knows, maybe Miller was talking about a certain dementia patient in the White House who has drive America’s economy off the cliff because he refuses to drill for the world’s largest recoverable oil reserves that are nowhere close to actually running out.
