House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been in politics for a long time. Those of us who still vividly remember the Obama years know that this isn’t even her first round of being Speaker. Some of us even forget that this California Democrat has been in Congress since the Clinton years. How does she keep getting re-elected?!
That might be a conversation for a different day. We’re sure plenty of gerrymandering and corrupt Clinton cash has had plenty to do with it, so we’ll just leave it at that for now. Today, we’re going to focus on Pelosi’s actual words when Republicans moved to impeach former President Bill Clinton — an even that backfired miserably for the GOP in 1998.
We’re not going to go into whether or not Clinton broke the law at the time. He did. But, was it sound political strategy for the GOP to go after him with impeachment at the time? In retrospect, not really. And, to her credit, Pelosi pointed that out at the time. It seems her logic takes a turn when it’s not a member of her party, and the target is Evil Cheeto Hitler.
