A day before he is scheduled to make the State of the Union address on Tuesday night, the most recent Washington Post-ABC News poll indicates that Americans believe President Joe Biden has not made much progress during his first two years in office.
A majority of Americans, 62 percent, believe that as Biden approaches the halfway point of his administration, he has done “not very much” or “little or nothing,” according to the survey, which was conducted with the State of the Union speech this week in mind. Comparatively, 36% of those surveyed believe Biden has done “a great deal” or “a decent amount.” One percent of people are opinionless.
Additionally, the majority of Americans disapprove of how Biden has handled important issues:
- Economy: 37% are in favor, 58% are against, and 4% are undecided.
- Illegal border crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border: 28 percent of respondents are in favor, 59 percent are opposed, and 13 percent are undecided.
- The situation with Russia and Ukraine: 38% approve, 48% oppose, and 13% have no view.
Additionally, this occurs the day before Tuesday’s State of the Union speech by Joe Biden, who will be 86 years old at the completion of a second term. He still hasn’t formally declared whether or not he’ll seek re-election in 2024. He did, however, recently make fun of reporters for running while on a family vacation in the Virgin Islands. There have been rumors that he is getting a 2024 squad together.
In a hypothetical 2024 contest, the Republican former president Donald Trump leads Biden, according to the same survey. According to the study, only 45% of respondents say they would vote to re-elect Biden, while 48% say they would select Trump.
Three percent would support neither candidate, two percent would not vote, one percent has no opinion, and one percent would vote for someone else.
The margin of error for the Washington Post-ABC News survey, which was conducted nationally among 1,003 Americans from January 27 to February 1, has a 3.5 percent margin of error.
Although Donald Trump was a great president at the time, he has one big flaw; he is compelled to verbally attack anyone who criticizes or even disagrees with him. His ego will ultimately be his downfall. His recent criticisms of Ron DeSantis were petty and undeserved. I’m thinking DeSantis would make America a great president. He is intelligent, he has all the credentials needed and he thinks before he speaks. I’ve been a Republican all my life but I think Trump would be wrong to run this time.

Whatever you think of Trump or Biden, an octogenarian has NO BUSINESS running for POTUS! Biden already shows signs of dementia, and who knows where Trump will be in six years at the end of his term? It is time for new, younger leadership. This is a job both physically and mentally exhausting and challenging. We cannot risk having a president who cannot handle the job, either physically or mentally.
To say Biden is a failure is am understatement! He has not only failed as a pretend to be President but has done everything to destroy the American way of life while telling us the great things he has done. Anyone who was alive during the Trump Administration can see how our way of life has declined and the cost of living has increased to the worst level in years. He is a complete failure as a person as a President and as a citizen of the United States.
Donald Trump was a great president. Unfortunately, his personality has turned off many people. Some people I know did not vote for Trump for that very reason. Though he did a lot for the country, people just don’t like him, and therefore did not vote for him. Too bad elections have become a popularity contest.
The country reached a tipping point during the last general election. It has now gone over to the dark side and has become a socialist republic of China. I doubt that it is recoverable to being an independent republic with democratic values based upon a capitalist economic system. That is just my opinion.
I’m for Trump He was a great President an did a lot for our country . An I believe that he can do it again to turn this country back around from the direction it’s heading into now. Our schools an Military an economy an our border would be better if he was in the White House. There wouldn’t be no war going on in Ukraine an we would be drilling our own oil an we wouldn’t have the debt that we have now. We need to get him back in the White House for he believes in America an doesn’t coward to no one.
