Fox News reports that on Thursday morning, two buses carrying undocumented immigrants that Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott had dispatched arrived at Vice President Kamala Harris’ home in Washington, D.C.
According to Fox News, 75 to 100 illegal immigrants from Venezuela, Uruguay, Colombia, and Mexico were transported by buses, which originated in Eagle Pass, Texas. Early on Thursday morning, they arrived at Harris’ home at the Washington Naval Observatory.
According to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Biden administration has given Harris the duty of tackling the “root causes of migration” as the number of migrants who cross the southern border is predicted to reach 2 million in the upcoming fiscal year. According to Fox News, Harris said Sunday that the border is “secured” despite the inflow, a claim that was refuted by the illegal immigrants who showed up at her house.
The new busing location comes after Abbott continues to transport unauthorized immigrants to the capital city of the country as well as to New York City and Chicago. The Republican governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey, has also started transporting illegal immigrants by bus to Washington.
The mayors of all three cities have blasted the busing initiatives as a diversionary tactic that is taxing their resources. The problem, according to Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams, was “driving his city to its breaking point.”
Late on Wednesday, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dispatched two flights of unauthorized immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
The Daily Caller News Foundation contacted the White House and Abbott’s office for comment, but neither institution provided a response.
