According to Judicial Watch, it sued the Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday to obtain Secret Service papers pertaining to the investigation of Hunter Biden’s iconic gun.
What is the history?
According to a source with knowledge of the incident, TheBlaze was the first outlet to report two years ago that Hallie Biden, the widow of President Joe Biden’s son Beau, secretly removed Hunter Biden’s handgun from his vehicle in October 2018 and put it in a trash can outside a Delaware supermarket.
But the source claimed that subsequent searches failed to turn up the pistol. In addition, the source reported that no arrests were made and no charges were brought after Hunter and Hallie Biden were questioned by law authorities.
The Delaware Department of Justice, which did not immediately respond to TheBlaze’s request for comment on this matter, was informed by the Delaware State Police that the case had been sent to them for a determination regarding prosecution.
The source added that before any reports were made, Secret Service and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives agents went to the store where Hunter Biden bought the weapon.
What else occurred during the gun incident involving Hunter Biden?
The source also told TheBlaze that after she got rid of the pistol, Hallie Biden—who was dating Hunter Biden at the time—got in touch with him and informed him of what she had done. Hunter Biden then instructed her to get the gun back, the source said. But when she tried that, the insider told TheBlaze, she was unable to locate the pistol.
According to the individual with knowledge, Hunter Biden informed police enforcement that he had bought the handgun in early October, that he had used it for target practice, and that he had kept it in his car rather than Hallie Biden’s home so it was out of reach of her kids.
Hunter Biden was questioned by law enforcement about whether he had spoken to anyone about the event, and the source told TheBlaze that he then asked if that meant his father, Joe Biden. He replied, “I have not ever phoned my father for anything,” and that he has always managed his own affairs.
The source added that a copy of the file on Hunter Biden’s gun purchase was given when the ATF requested it during a visit to the store. The insider also claimed that Secret Service operatives went to the store without even any reports being filed because they needed to locate the pistol.
According to Politico, a man who frequently searched through the supermarket’s trash discovered the pistol and turned it in to the police days later.
