This meme from Germany has gone viral this week. It depicts the same TV meteorologist in front of a map of Germany, but with different color schemes a few years later. Back in 2017, temperatures were actually warmer than they are today (temps are displayed in Celsius because it’s Europe). But in 2022, the map is blazing hot red to make it look like a scorching heat wave from global warming.
It probably feels a lot hotter to Germans today since they can’t run their A/C in the summer. Hey, does anyone remember when Donald Trump told the Germans they’d live to regret it if they relied on Russian natural gas for their electricity? Good times.
And now that EU nations are all “sanctioning” Russia because of non-NATO country Ukraine, which they’re under no obligation to protect or defend, Russia is cutting everyone’s gas off. France, Italy and Germany are all facing energy shortages because of sanctions they imposed on Russia.
And if you think the summer months are miserable without heat, just wait until next winter when no one can turn their furnace on. It’s about to get interesting.
