Former Vice President Joe Biden officially threw his hat into the ring for 2020, joining one of the largest primary contests the Democratic Party has seen in its history.
Curiously, Biden launched his campaign without the coveted endorsement he wanted from former President Barack Obama, raising some serious questions as to whether or not he can effectively market himself as the heir to the Obama legacy.
In a normal election year, Biden would have a pretty good shot — he’s seen as a centrist by many in his own party and outside of it, and he seems to be the only candidate that shares President Trump’s bond with the blue collar working class.
But this campaign isn’t going anywhere — anyone could see that. The Democratic Party is no longer the party of the working American. It is the party of people who are often not American and even more often not working at all.
Biden needs a miracle just to make it to the debate stage.
